
Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus, as the front office of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Samut Songkhram Province, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pharmacist Pimporn Thongmuang, Vice President of Samut Songkhram Campus. Along with Mr. Ekanarin Piyapanyamonkol, Acting Director of Samut Songkhram Campus Office, Mr. Ekkachon Noi-ngen, Director of the Central Division, Samut Songkhram Campus Office Faculty and staff of Samut Songkhram Campus Office/internal supervision unit organized an OPEN HOUSE activity to welcome students from Sattha Samut School and Thawaranukul School in Samut Songkhram Province. Study and observe the operations of the agency in the Mangrove Plant Learning Center Project for Medicine, as well as demonstration activities in the Bang Cha Chili Oil Dessert Recipe Development Project. Under the Plant Genetic Conservation Project initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (P.G.S.P.), which is one of the research projects to improve local produce in Samut Songkhram Province.
The purpose of this event is to
- Promote students to learn about mangrove forest resources and local medicinal plants, including the importance of conservation and medical applications.
- Provide students with an opportunity to see local research and innovation processes through the development of products from Bang Chang chili oil, which is the province's identity.
- Inspire learning and prepare for future careers by connecting knowledge in science, technology, agriculture, and food processing.
- Strengthen cooperation between universities and educational institutions in the province to develop human resources and communities sustainably.
Within the event, students participated in various learning activities, including studying mangrove plant species and learning about medicinal herbs. Viewing the prototype products and demonstrating the steps in developing a recipe for Bang Chang chili oil desserts created interest and a fun learning atmosphere.
This activity was organized with the aim of promoting learning outside the classroom, instilling awareness of natural resource conservation, and providing students with an opportunity to experience integrated learning processes. Through participation in activities in 5 learning bases, including:
Bangchang Chili Oil Dessert Recipe Development Base – Demonstrates how to make sago with shredded pork filling from Bangchang Chili Oil and demonstrates how to make chili paste from Bangchang Chili.
College of Allied Health Sciences Base – Demonstrating how to perform CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a first aid technique used in emergency situations for those who have stopped breathing or their heart has stopped beating. To help pump blood and oxygen to various parts of the body until treatment is received and to provide knowledge in various fields from the faculty of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine, College of Allied Health Sciences.
College of Nursing and Health Sciences Base – Take a tour of the virtual laboratory for the practice of students of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.
Thai Herbal Plant Conservation and Learning Center "Suan Sunandha" - Learn about the native trees of Samut Songkhram Province, Bang Chang Chili. Learn about various plant species and experience growing plants in the area.
Mangrove Plant Learning Center for Medical Purposes – Study the natural ecosystem surrounding the Samut Songkhram campus, along with environmental conservation activities.
