A Development of the Teacher Professional Scale
This research aimed to construct a teacher professional scale and to determining the quality of the scale including providing norm criteria for the scale. The sample was a number of 2,463 undergraduate students in Thailand, who were selected by multistage sampling method. The research tool was a measure of 3 options. The number 30 was a measure of the ability of the teaching profession that constructed from Gourneau’s five attitudes of effective teachers: 1) demonstrating caring and kindness; 2) sharing responsibility; 3) sensitively accepting diversity; 4) fostering individualized instruction; and 5) encouraging creativity
The results of the study
showed that the scale reliability was
0.731, and the item- total correlation
was between .338 - .626. Concurrent
validity study showed that educational
undergraduate students had average
scores obtained by the measurement
of
the teaching profession scale compared
to those who did not learn in education
faculty. Educational undergraduate
students in year 5 had the average score
obtained by the measurement of the
teaching profession scale as compared to
those who study
year 4, a significant
higher statistical level. The local norm
in T score was shown at T3.04 –
T73.90
