The Dietary Habits that Affect the Oral Health of Pre-school Children at Ban Tanab Child Development Center, TambonThung Kula, Tha Tum District, Surin province

       This study aimed to study the dietary habits that affect the oral health of preschool children at Ban Tanab Child Development Center, Tambon Thung Kula, Tha Tum District, Surin province. The instrument to collect data was a questionnaire about dietary habits affecting oral health of pre-school children and these questionnaires were analysed by frequency distribution in percentage. The samples were pre-school children at Ban Tanab Child Development Center, Tambon Thung Kula, Tha Tum District, Surin Province by using Tarotamane's tolerance formula that the calculated. The sample size was 44 persons.The study indicated that dietary habits that usually affected the dental carewere eating chocolate snacks, followed by daily bread with Ovaltine.Behaviors that were sometimes practiced were eating crunchy snacks, and Thai desserts such as Thong Yib, Thong Yod, and Foi Tong. The study found that behavior in food consumption affected dental care prevalent among pre-school children aged 3-5 years at Ban Tan Sub-district Child Development Center, TambonThung Kula, Tha Tum District, Surin Province. Most preschool children behaviors included the eating of food that was sweet, contained a lot of sugar, and most had decay tooth. To reduce the incidence of dental care, the relevant health authorities should regularly check the oral health of pre-school children aged 3-5 and educate teachers, parents, and children that sweet food with sucrose is an ingredient that causes acidification and causes tooth decay.
