
The purpose of this research was to study on visual perception ability of grade 1 students with mild intellectual disabilities through contour drawing activities. The paticipants of the study were 6 students with mild intellectual disabilities with no other disabilities. The students were selected by purposive sampling and were enrolled in Grade 1 of Phyathai School in Bangkok during the first semester of Academic Year 2015. The experiment lasted for the total of 5 weeks (25 sessions, forty minutes per session, one session a day, 5 days a week). The instruments used in this study were contour drawing activities plans, and the visual perception ability test. The data were analyzed using Median, Interquartile Range, The Signed Test for Median: One Sample and The Wilcoxon Matched - Pairs Signed - Ranks Test. The results of the study were follows; 1) The visual perception ability of grade 1 students with mild intellectual disabilities after the use of the contour drawing activities plans were in medium level (Mdn = 13.17 from total score 20; t = 3, P-value = 0.656) 2) The visual perception ability of grade 1 students with mild intellectual disabilities after the use of the contour drawing activities plans was in higher level.
