Botanical characteristics

Tree: A perennial plant up to 20 m tall. All parts of the tree have white sap.

Leaves: Single, alternating, oval-shaped. The leaves are dark green and shiny.

The fruit is similar to a jackfruit but smaller. It is a compound fruit, cylindrical to spherical in shape, 10-15 cm wide, 20-35 cm long. The skin is thin and sticky, green. brownish yellow and has a pentagonal pattern They are either raised or flat. The seed coat is yellowish-white to orange. It has a sweet taste and aroma.

Seeds are spherical, flat or elongated, about 2-3 cm long.
