The Meaning and Existence of the believe in “Pee Pob” in Thai society

       This research is aims to study The Meaning and Existence of the believe in “Pee Pob” in Thai society The researcher has accumulated data and information in form of documentation as well as study areas include Kalasin Sagon-Nakon Maha-Sarakham and Bangkok to gather knowledge of how it works. 1) Using questionnaire for sample that lives in Bangkok 2) Using in dept interviews for sample who is an expert of Pee Pob 3) Using focus group for sample who is Esan descent which has difference context and areas. The results showed that there are two kinds of Pee Pob. The first one is called “Pob Mon” and another one is called “Pob Cher”. The believe in Pee Pob lives by word of mouth and has a set of knowledge about the occurrence and power of Pee Pob’s and Pee Pob’s exorcism ceremony to be an important factor to stronger itself.
