The Influence of social capital: Social network, Localism, Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy and Knowledge Management; towards Sustainable Community Development

       This research aimed to study the influence of social capital: social network, localism, philosophy of sufficiency economy and knowledge management towards sustainable community development in Samut Songkram province. The researcher conducted both quantitative and qualitative research. The sample of the quantitative part was 400 residents in Samut Songkram province. The instrument use was a questionnaire. Meanwhile, the sample of the qualitative research was the community leaders, residents, and officers of the agencies in the area. Related documents and plans, in-depth interview, group interview and observation were conducted. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used for data analysis with LISREL program. Meanwhile, the content analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data. It was found that social capital that influenced the sustainable development of the community the most was social network, followed by knowledge management and philosophy of sufficiency economy. Although, localism did not contribute to the sustainable development directly, it significantly did influence in an indirect way.
