The research populations were primary education level mathematics textbooks licensed by the Ministry of Education (according to the notice about making judicious choices of learning media in schools), in accordance with the basic education curriculum B.E.2544 and the basic education core curriculum B.E.2551. The top three publishers of which the math textbooks were chosen in most schools were purposive sampling. Eighteen math textbooks of three publishers were selected. Those were produced by The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology, Aksorn Charoen Tat Co.,Ltd., and by The Institute of Academic Development. Data collection instruments were “ Analysis of the congruency between words, key words, phrases, and sentences indicating specific characteristics and each desirable characteristic ”, and “ Analysis of the congruency between word problems and desirable characteristics.” The content validity was evaluated by using the index of item-objective congruence which the range of index score was 0.5 to 1.0 ,and the reliability score was not lower than 95%. Research findings revealed that 1. 41 wordings (words, key words, phrases and sentences) encouraging the learners to perform their desirable characteristics were found. 2. only seven desirable characteristics which were “Love of nation, religion and king”, “Self-discipline”, “Avidity for learning”, “Observance of principles of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy one’s way of life ”, “Dedication and commitment to work”, “Cherishing Thai-ness”, and “Public mindedness” were inserted . “Honest and integrity” was disappeared. 3. In The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology Grade 6 textbooks, the characteristics were most found but least found in Grade 1. Classified by strand, “Numbers and Operations” most included the characteristics in; while, “Geometry” least included. In Aksorn Charoen Tat Co.,Ltd. Grade 6 textbooks, inserting characteristics most was “Numbers and Operations”, least insert in “Geometry” ; whereas no insertion in “Data Analysis and Probability” . Grade 4 textbooks of the Institute of Academic Development were most inserted, but least in Grade 5. The strand “Numbers and Operations” was most included the characteristics in, “Data Analysis and Probability” was least included; while, “Geometry” was never found.
