Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus—led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pimporn Thongmuang, Vice President for Samut Songkhram Campus—assigned Mr. Ekkachon Noingeon, Director of the General Affairs Division, Samut Songkhram Campus Office, along with personnel from the Buildings and Facilities Section, to collaborate with the Samut Songkhram Provincial Fisheries Office. Government agencies in Samut Songkhram Province are pressing ahead with measures to control and reduce the population of the "black-chin tilapia"—an invasive aquatic species that could impact the ecosystem and native aquatic life—carrying out these efforts within the grounds of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus.

This initiative aims to reduce the population and disrupt the reproductive cycle of the black-chin tilapia, as well as to mitigate potential ecological impacts on the water bodies within the Samut Songkhram Campus. The operation is being conducted in collaboration with the Samut Songkhram Provincial Fisheries Office and other local government agencies to ensure the proper management of aquatic resources.

Additionally, Asian sea bass have been released into the water bodies within the Samut Songkhram Campus as part of efforts to restore and balance the ecosystem. This initiative aims to foster biodiversity in the water and support ecosystem management, ensuring the campus remains a thriving environment suitable for nature and environmental learning.

This initiative reflects the collaboration between the university and government agencies in jointly caring for natural resources and the environment, while also promoting tangible ecosystem management to maintain the balance of water resources and biodiversity within Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus.

Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus, remains committed to developing its grounds into a “university amidst nature” that offers a high-quality environment, while simultaneously ensuring the sustainable preservation of the ecosystem and natural resources.
