Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus—led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pimporn Thongmuang, Vice President for Samut Songkhram Campus—assigned Mr. Ariyamet Siriruekratana, an Educational Officer from the Education Division of the Samut Songkhram Campus Office, to lead the Student Organization Executive Committee of the Samut Songkhram Campus in participating in a public awareness campaign for the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (World Drug Day) for the year 2026.

           Mr. Chayachai Saeng-in, Governor of Samut Songkhram Province, presided over the event, which was attended by a total of 600 participants—including heads of government agencies, civil servants, officials, community and village representatives, educational personnel, and students—joining the campaign.

              The objective is to raise awareness among the target audience regarding the significance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. It aims to foster resilience and an understanding of the harmful effects and dangers of drugs, enabling individuals to protect themselves, their families, society, and the nation. Furthermore, it seeks to mobilize collective energy, generate public awareness and vigilance, and encourage active participation in the prevention and resolution of drug-related problems. Furthermore, the initiative aims to encourage individuals with drug dependencies to undergo comprehensive treatment and to provide them with the opportunity to reintegrate into society and resume a normal life. It also seeks to foster understanding across all sectors of society regarding the government's drug control policies—which aim to alleviate the hardships caused by drug-related issues—and to build confidence in the efforts undertaken by the government and relevant agencies.
