Every year, Chakri Day is the day when the Thai people commemorate the benevolent reign of King Phutthayodfa Chulalok (Rama I), the first monarch of the Chakri Dynasty of Bangkok.
His Majesty the King will proceed to the Phra Phutthayodfa Bridge Monument in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, for the royal ceremony commemorating King Phutthayodfa Chulalok and the Chakri Dynasty, which falls on April 6th of every year.
It is a tradition for the Prime Minister, ministers, government and private sector agencies, civil servants, and the general public to participate in wreath-laying ceremonies on Chakri Day. Meanwhile, citizens display national flags on buildings and homes to commemorate the benevolent reign of King Rama I.
