The 15th day of the waxing moon of the 8th lunar month
This is the day that the Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after he became enlightened. Therefore, this day is considered the day that Buddhism began to be proclaimed to the world. And because the Buddha was able to show, reveal, and make known to the world the Dharma that he had realized, it can be said that he became the Supreme Enlightened Buddha. Perfection means completing the mission of being a Buddha who is a "Samma Sambuddha", meaning a Buddha who can teach others what he has realized, which is different from "Paccekabuddha" who can attain enlightenment by himself, but cannot teach or reveal it to others. For this reason, Asanha Bucha Day is called "Dharma Day".
