Supporting factors leading to the reduction and abstinence of alcoholic beverages among people in the southern Andaman province of Thailand

       This research aims to 1) study ways to solve social and health problems in various dimensions that are caused by alcohol drinking behavior; 2) study the supporting factors that lead to the reduction of alcohol consumption and to understand, accept and lead to public compliance with the Alcohol Control Act BE 2551; and 3) examine the level of relationship between factors and the reduction of alcohol drinking. This research uses qualitative research method with in-depth interviews and quantitative research using questionnaires. The results of both methods are consistent. The results of qualitative research must be regularly publicized through a continuous variety of media, campaigning and activities to reduce and stop drinking. The quantitative research found that guidelines for solving social and health problems in various dimensions at a high level with an average of 3.76, supporting factors have an effect on the reduction of alcohol consumption in all aspects at a high level, with an average of 3.82 and for confirmatory factor analysis, all factors are related to the reduction of alcohol drinking among people at the level of more than 0.50 or 50 percent and have statistical significance at 0.01 for all factors.
