On January 31st, 2019 at 02.00 PM, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pimporn Thongmuang, director of the Samut Songkhram Education Center, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, participated in the opening ceremony of the big white grapefruit festival welcoming Chinese New Year, at the stadium in front of Samut Songkhram City Hall, Mrs. Sukanda Worachetbancha, governor of Samut Songkhram province presided over the opening ceremony, while the heads of government organizations also participated and helped organize this event.       

"The Samut Songkhram Great White Grapefruit Festival" would be held Between January 31st - February 3rd, 2019. There were more than 50 stalls selling grapefruit from gardeners, selling A grade at a price of not more than 70 baht per kilogram, exhibitions of One Tambon One Product (OTOP), and more than 200 tons of white grapefruit.

Then, the governor of Samut Songkhram awarded the 15 certificates and prizes to the winners of the contest and brought 3 big white grapefruits that won the contest to bid for the money in order to buy medical equipment for hospitals in Samut Songkhram province by starting a bid of 1,000 baht per tray while many bidder participated in this activity.
