"Suan Sunandha" Samut Songkhram Center Participated in the Visakha Bucha Day event, the Important Day in Buddhism and the International Day of the World 2019

On May 18th, 2019 at 07.00 pm, Samut Songkhram Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University participated in Visakha Bucha Day event, the important day of Buddhism and an international day of the year 2019. Mrs. Sukanda Worachetbancha, Governor of Samut Songkhram Province presided over the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Visakha Bucha Day exhibition, The International Day of the World. Mr. Prachin Thansirisin, Deputy Governor, hit the gong for 9 times. Miss Nilubol Rangseethammanukul, Director of the Provincial Buddhism Office, reported the importance of the exhibition then explored around.

At 07.30 pm, the governor was the chairperson of the ceremony of worshiping the Triple Gem. Then, Phra Thep Samut Moli Consultant of the Primate Region 5, Abbot of Phet Samut Worawihan Temple was the president of the monk to give blessings. Mr. Sumet Theeraniti, Provincial Secretary led the heads of government agencies, civil servants, soldiers, merchants, Buddhist people to participate in the Visakha Bucha Day event.

 Phra Thep Samut Moli, Consultant of Primate Region 5, Abbot of Phet Samut Worawihan Temple clarified the history and importance of the Visakha Bucha Day that it is one of the most important Buddhist festival in the Thai calendar. It celebrates the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautama Buddha. These 3 events all took place on the same day of the year, the full moon day of the sixth lunar month. Thai Buddhist usually visit the temple, to make a merit and listen to sermons. The highlight of this day is in the evening, where people walk around the main shrine of the temple 3 times to celebrate the 3 jewels of Buddhism.

After that, the president of the monk prayed and offered a word of worship and led monks, novices, ubasa, civil servants and Buddhists to walk around the temple to commemorate the Triple Gems, including to pray and behave in proper way in order to enhance happiness for themselves and their families.
